How does CertInstaller work?

CertInstaller is a system for managing SSL server certificates that integrates the following processes into a single seamless solution:

  •  Certificate installation

CertInstaller consists of a Provisioning Server that runs on the Internet, and either a file placed on the Web server to secure, or an application that runs on the customer’s desktop computer. Together, these two components create a Web application that’s easy to use. 


Provisioning with CertInstaller

 1.  Go to the CA’s Web site.
 2. Enter info for the certificate.
 3. Perform an e-commerce transaction.
 4. Respond to the CA’s vetting request.
 5. Receive an e-mail from the CA.
 6. Click a link in the e-mail.
 7. Restart the Web server.
